2007 - Bill Zagar - Stooges League

2007 Football Owner of the Year - Bill Zagar - Stooges League

It might be a long time before we season as dominating as the one that was put together by Bill Zagar in the Stooges League in 2007.  Bill's team, Mr. Bo's Ass Ponies finished the regular season 12-2 and won both playoff games including the championship.  That only tells half the story of the dominance of his team this year.  The Ass Ponies finished the regular season having scored 1912.26 points.  The next best team finished with 1506.40, more than 400 points less!  Only one time all year did Zagar's team score less than 100 points.  The Ass Ponies were the highest scoring team in the league in 7 out of 16 weeks.  In 6 of the other 9 weeks they were the 2nd highest scoring team of the week.  Their All-Play Record for the regular season was an almost unheard of 139-15.  The next best team in the league that year was 88-66.

The Ass Ponies draft set the tone for their award winning season:

1.11:  Brian Westbrook:  #2 ranked RB
2.02:  Tom Brady:  #1 ranked QB and overall player
3.11:  TJ Houshmandzadeh:  #5 ranked WR
4.02:  Randy Moss:  #1 ranked WR and #2 overall player
5.11:  Tony Gonzalez:  #2 ranked TE
6.02:  Deuce McAllister
7.11:  Byron Leftwich
8.02:  Bernard Berrian:  #27 ranked WR
9.11:  LenDale White:  #16 ranked RB
10.02:  DJ Hackett
11.11:  Najeh Davenport
12.02:  San Diego Chargers DEF/ST:  #1 ranked DEF/ST
13.11:  Anthony Gonzalez
14.02:  Brodie Croyle
15.11:  Jason Elam
16.02:  Dwayne Bowe:  #23 ranked WR

The Ass Ponies made one spectacular waiver wire pickup during the year dropping Byron Leftwich and picking up QB Derek Anderson.  Anderson finished as the 6th overall top scoring QB in the league.  The Ass Ponies made no trades during the season.
